In an effort to support the Black Lives Matter movement and keep in line with goals of transparency, reparations, and combating power-hoarding practices rampant in the white supremacy culture of the dance world, we are doing the following:
Creating a breakdown of our annual budget to show where money goes and hold ourselves publicly accountable to aligning our money with our values
Creating a Letter of Agreement for each collaborating artist that outlines values, expectations, and payment agreements
Donating 20% of our sliding scale Zoom class income (as well as every dollar over $15 donations) to a Black-led organization (rotating organizations) in 2020/throughout the pandemic
Accountability and ability to receive feedback are integral to our commitment to anti-racism work. We are happy and grateful to receive feedback on how we can better practice anti-racism, intersectionality, reparations, and justice. Here is an anonymous form for feedback or reach us at 2ndbestdance@gmail.com
